Dayton Selects Their Football Captains the 2021 Season

The Dayton Flyers selected their captains for the upcoming football season: junior running back Jake Chisholm, senior quarterback Jack Cook and senior safety Brandon Easterling. They were chosen after their last spring practice on Friday and were announced prior to Saturday’s game exhibition game with Ashland.

The Flyers lost to Ashland, 31-20, in their spring exhibition game on Saturday. It was not open to the public. Dayton got on the scoreboard first when Cook connected with Chisholm for a seven-yard touchdown. Back-up quarterback Cole Draw ran for a touchdown and threw another score to Joe Swanson in the third quarter.

Dayton went 8-3 in the 2019 and did not play last season due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Their first game of the 2021 season will be September 4th when they host Robert Morris at Welcome Stadium.
