Dayton Flyers Add DePaul Transfer to Next Year’s Team

University of Dayton men’s basketball coach Anthony Grant announced Friday that they have added 6-2 guard Kobe Elvis to next year’s team. Elvis is transferring from DePaul and will have four years of eligibility for the Flyers.

Elvis is from Brampton, Ontario and played in all 19 games for DePaul last season, starting four games and averaged 5.2 points a game. He had 36 assists and 14 steals and shot 42 percent (41-97) from the floor and just under 42 percent (14-49) from beyond from the arc.

Elvis will join a highly touted group of newcomers to next year’s Dayton team including two transfers; Tourmani Camera from Georgia and Richard Amaefule from East Tennessee State. This also includes four freshmen; Lynn Greer III of Philadelphia, DaRon Holmes of Goodear, AZ, Malachi Smith (brother of former Flyer Scoochie Smith) from the Bronx and Kaleb Washington of Mableton, GA.

The Flyers went 14-10 last season, losing to Memphis in the First Round of the 2021 National Invitational Tournament.
