Dayton Beats Saint Louis on Senior Night

UD never trails as they sweep the Billikens for the second straight year

DAYTON — On Senior Night, the Dayton Flyers routed the Saint Louis Billikens, 76-53, Friday at the UD Arena. UD jumped out to a 10-0 lead to start the game and never looked back. Jordy Tshimanga scored the first game’s three points, followed by five straight points from Ibi Watson and Zimi Nwokeji scored.

The Flyers made 64 percent of their shots in the first half and led, 43-23, at halftime. Dayton improves to 12-7 overall, 8-6 in the Atlantic 10.

Jalen Crutcher led UD with 19 points, including 10-11 from the foul line. Ibi Watson added 14, including nine points in the first half. Mustapha Amzil had 10 points and five boards. Two other seniors played well for Dayton. Rodney Chatman scored nine points while Jordy Tshimanga had eight points and eight rebounds. The Flyer defense held Saint Louis to 27 percent shooting from the floor and no Billiken player scored in double figures.
