Dayton beats George Mason for the second time this season

The Dayton Flyers got balanced scoring Friday night in a 74-65 victory over the George Mason Patriots at the UD Arena. Jalen Crutcher led UD with 21 points and dished out seven assists. Ibi Watson made five three-pointers to finish with 20 points. Elijah Weaver added a Dayton-high 13 points while Mustapha Amzil scored 10. Jordy Tshimanga grabbed 14 rebounds and scored eight points in 32 minutes of action. The Flyers improved to 11-5 overall, 7-4 in the Atlantic 10.

Dayton was scheduled to play Richmond but that game was postponed due Covid-19 concerns in the Spiders program. UD and George Mason met on January 2nd and the Flyers won that afternoon by the exact score, 74-65.

Dayton’s scheduled game at Massachusetts was postponed because the UMass campus at Amherst, MA placed all athletic programs on a 14 day pause due to Covid-19.

The Flyers will now host VCU at the UD Arena late Tuesday afternoon. Tip-off is at 5 pm, pre-game coverage begins at 4:30 pm on the home of the Flyers; 1290 and 95-7, WHIO. You can also listen to the game here on WHIO.com.
