— The Dayton Flyers drew an average of 12,996 fans to UD Arena for men’s basketball games last season, good for No. 23 in the nation.
Despite a 14-17 season, attendance was down only slightly from the previous season when the Flyers won the Atlantic 10 and set a school/UD Arena record by drawing 13,018 per game (that ranked 22nd nationally).

Unlike the previous season, UD did not lead the state of Ohio in college basketball attendance.
In a resurgent season under new coach Chris Holtmann, Ohio State drew 13,495 fans to rank 21st in the nation and seventh in the Big Ten.
That is up from an average of 12,324 in the last season under coach Thad Matta but still well below the capacity of Value City Arena of 19.049.
According to figures released by the NCAA this week, the Atlantic 10 was ninth among Division I conferences with an average of 4,853 fans per game (up 122 from the previous season).
Among conferences that aren’t part of football’s Power 5, the Big East was fifth in attendance (10,371), the Mountain West was seventh (6,738) and the AAC was eighth (5,569).
Wittenberg ranked eighth nationally in Division III with an average of 1,089 fans per game.
That trailed Wooster, Marietta and John Carroll among teams in Ohio.
The Tigers’ 78-77 win over Wooster on Feb. 17 was the fifth-most attended game in Division III last season.
