Browns star WR Odell Beckham Jr. suffers season-ending knee injury

CLEVELAND — Star Cleveland Browns wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. is expected to miss the rest of the 2020 season after suffering a torn ACL in Sunday’s win over the Cincinnati Bengals.

An MRI conducted Monday confirmed Beckham suffered the torn knee ligament in his left knee, according to an announcement posted on the team’s website.

He suffered the injury on the Browns' second play from scrimmage after quarterback Baker Mayfield’s pass, intended for Beckham, was intercepted. Beckham was injured while chasing down Bengals corner back Darius Phillips, who intercepted the pass.

Beckham had caught 23 passes in the Browns' seven games, good for 319 yards and three touchdowns.

The Browns improved their record on the season to 5-2 after beating the Bengals 37-34, following a late-game touchdown pass from Mayfield to Donovan Peoples-Jones.
