Reports: 2 Cincinnati Bengals players test positive for COVID-19 on team’s bye week

CINCINNATI — Two Cincinnati Bengals players tested positive for COVID-19 Friday, ahead of the team’s bye week, according to multiple media reports.

Because the team does not play this weekend, players have not been at the team’s facility since Wednesday and will not return until next week, a team spokesperson said in a statement provided to our news partners at WCPO-TV.

All team members will consistently be tested for COVID-19 during the bye week, per the NFL’s bye week protocols.

The names of the players who tested positive were not released.

The Bengals return after the bye week to play the Pittsburgh Steelers Nov. 15 at 4:25 p.m.

We’ll update this story as we learn more.
