Arizona State running back transferring, set to play defense at Ohio State

COLUMBUS — After playing the last two season as a running back at Arizona State University, DeaMonte Trayanum is transferring schools and switching which side of the ball he will be playing on.

According to our news partners at 10TV, Trayanum, an Akron native, announced on Twitter Sunday that he will be playing defense at Ohio State.

During the 2021 season, 10TV reported Trayanum rushed 78 times for 402 yards and six touchdowns.

Trayanum played both running back and linebacker during his high school career at Archbishop Hoban.

“Coming back home playing defense, ain’t (sic) no other way to do it!” Trayanum tweeted.

Due to his decision to transfer, Trayanum will not be joining Arizona State when they play Wisconsin in the Las Vegas Bowl.
