Dayton-area movie theater slashes prices through summer

New premium theater with gourmet food now open at Austin Landing

One of Dayton’s luxury movie theaters has dropped the prices of its tickets through the dog days of summer.

Cinépolis Dayton will sell regular movie tickets for $7.50 all day weekdays until Aug. 1, according to an email from spokeswoman for the business at 10251 Penny Lane in Miami Township, Montgomery County.

Admission will be $7 for children younger than 12 and $6.25 for those 60 and older weekdays.

Regular admission tickets Friday through Sunday are $7.75 until 4 p.m. and $10.50 after. 

The price for children and seniors is regularly $7.25.

Marica Grubbs said prime time ticket prices were cut about $3.  

“This is a huge company and this is the first Ohio venture,” she said. “We want to stay competitive.”

Cinépolis, a 12-screen theater with a full bar and gourmet concessions, sold weekday tickets for $5 during  its “Winter Flash Sale” promotion earlier this year. 

The theater placed third in Dayton.com’s best of Dayton people’s choice award.
