HAMILTON — Trooper, the puppy struck by a train in Hamilton this month, has been fitted in his first doggie wheelchair, the Animal Friends Humane Society posted on Facebook.
His foster family will continue working with him at home make adjustments to his harness and belly support as needed so he’s able to move more efficiently.
The recent train accident amputated both rear legs and most of his tail. The left eye was also damaged by the impact and was assessed by a board certified veterinary ophthalmologist, who confirmed that it could not be saved. Vets also performed additional amputations on both rear limbs and tail.
