Last chance for UD students to get required flu shot is today

DAYTON — The University of Dayton released a statement Friday that all students must receive a flu shot by November 1 to continue in-person learning this year.

The university cited Coronavirus as one reason for the measure, saying it will “help curb the spread of the flu on campus during the pandemic.”

Free shots will be offered by the university, in partnership with Premier Community Health, today October 30.

Stations to receive flu shots will be in the former Day Air Credit Union across from the UD Student Health Center entrance.

UD will provide more information on registration in the coming days, and asks that you continue to check their website here.

Due to a large volume of requests, the university’s Student Health Center is no longer accepting appointments. The school recommends going to a flu clinic during walk-in hours if you cannot make one of the above days for a free shot.

Those who do not receive a shot by November 1 will be limited to online learning. Certain circumstances will allow for an exemption, but students will need to apply for one.

For more information, here is the university’s full statement.
