24-year-old believed to be seriously hurt in early morning Dayton crash

DAYTON — The 24-year-old driver of a grey Dodge Challenger is believed to have been seriously hurt when he and another driver crashed into each other Saturday morning, according to a crash report.

The crash at the intersection of Philadelphia Drive and West Hillcrest happened just after 6 a.m. Both cars involved in the wreck sustained heavy damage.

Dalean Thorton, 24, of Dayton, was taken to Grandview Medical Center with what police believed were serious injuries. The driver of the other vehicle and her passenger were not injured, the report read.

Police on scene reported the cars hit a power box that powers the stoplights at the intersection.

Investigators said due to conflicting statements about the crash that neither driver will be cited.
