BERGEN COUNTY, N.J. — Toys “R” Us announced a big comeback with a two-story flagship store that will span 20,000 square feet in a press release. The new store will be inside American Dream, a New Jersey mall.
The store will offer visitors a chance to re-discover their favorite brands, meet Geoffrey the Giraffe, and enjoy new things like an ice cream parlor and two-story slide.
Toys “R” Us filed for bankruptcy in 2017, then closed all of its stores in the United States the next year, USA Today reported.
Now, the company has new management, and a partnership with Macy’s that will put Toys “R” Us in more than 400 of its upscale department store locations in 2022, as previously reported.
The store is scheduled to open in the American Dream mall in mid-December, with no formal date announced.
Outside of the United States, there are approximately 900 Toys “R” Us stores globally, CNBC reported.
