WHITE SETTLEMENT, Texas — A teen girl has died and her father was injured after a pickup truck crashed into their Texas home on Sunday, officials say.
According to the White Settlement Police Department in a news release, just after 6 p.m. a pickup truck that was hauling a flatbed trailer lost control.
The truck entered a backyard and then crashed into multiple bedrooms of a house, police told WFAA. A teen girl was pinned under the truck and died at the scene. Her father was taken to the hospital in serious condition. WSPD said a woman had minor injuries.
According to WSPD, the driver of the truck was arrested on “suspicion of intoxication manslaughter and intoxication assault.” A woman also inside the truck was taken to the hospital and had minor injuries. WSPD said she has been cooperating with investigators.
The Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office is assisting WSPD with processing and mapping the scene. WSPD is handling the criminal charges.
The investigation is ongoing. WFAA said that the victims have not yet been identified. No further information has been released.
