According to WHBQ-TV, Memphis police said the incident occurred about 12:30 a.m. outside Methodist North Hospital. Two victims, including one who remains in critical condition, are being treated at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital, police said. Four others were taken to Regional One Health, including three who are being questioned in connection with a stolen vehicle, authorities said.

In a statement obtained by WHBQ, a Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare spokesperson said no hospital employees were hurt in the incident.

“We appreciate the swift action from our employees to guide patients away from the [Emergency Department] waiting area so our security team and Memphis Police Department could respond quickly,” the statement read. “We are working with local law enforcement who are continuing to investigate. The hospital is not on lockdown at this time.”

WHBQ reported that its crews saw a car with “multiple bullet holes” outside the hospital.
