Marvel, Disney delay slate of films including newest ‘Black Panther,’ ‘Doctor Strange,’ ‘Thor’

Marvel and Disney are adjusting their release schedules for next year.

Long-awaited films like the sequel to “Black Panther” and “Doctor Strange” are being pushed back, Variety reported.

Marvel made the announcement Monday morning.

The films are part of MCU’s Phase 4, which included September’s release of “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings,” as well as Disney + “WandaVision,” “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” and “Loki,” Entertainment Weekly reported.

“Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” was moved to May 6.

That bumped “Thor: Love and Thunder” to July 8.

The “Thor” move then resulted in the release delay of “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” to Nov. 11, 2022.

“The Marvels” will now be released Feb. 17, 2023 and “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” has moved to July 28, 2023.

Other untitled Marvel films have been removed from the release plans. One was moved from Nov. 10, 2023, to Nov. 3, 2023.

The newest Marvel film, “The Eternals” is scheduled to be released in a few weeks on Nov. 5.

Marvel Studios movies aren’t the only films with adjusted release dates.

The fifth “Indiana Jones” film will not be released on July 29, 2022, as originally slated. Instead, it will be pushed back a year to June 30, 2023, Screen Rant reported.

An untitled Disney live-action film that was supposed to be released on July 14, 2023, has been dropped from the schedule, Variety reported.
