Mark Wahlberg donates 1.3M masks to schools

Singer and actor Mark Wahlberg is making sure school children are staying healthy as they return to classrooms amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Wahlberg recently donated 1.3 million face masks to schools around the country, My San Antonio reported.

San Antonio ISD has received 100,000 disposable masks, WOAI reported.

“We are thrilled to have caught the attention of Mark Wahlberg. We greatly appreciate the donation as these masks help us meet the challenges of this moment,” the district officials said in a statement to My San Antonio and WOAI.

Wahlberg’s company, Performance Inspired, is working with a distribution company to get the masks to teachers and students alike.

WOAI reported other schools benefiting from Wahlberg’s donation are located in:

  • Bentonville, Arkansas
  • Boise, Idaho
  • Chicago
  • Cincinnati, Ohio
  • Grand Rapids, Michigan
  • Lakeland, Florida
  • Minneapolis
  • Portland, Oregon
  • Quincy, Massachusetts
  • Rochester, New York
  • Salisbury, North Carolina
  • Woonsocket, Rhode Island
