Noel “Gene” Record, 93, and Virginia Berryman Record, 91, received their shots early Tuesday at the University of Cincinnati Health drive-thru vaccination site, WLWT reported.

The site is open to residents 80 and older, the television station reported.

Noel Record, a lifelong resident of Covington and the son of a railway clerk, was born there on Feb. 19, 1927, according to state birth records. Virginia Record was born April 29, 1929, in Clark County, Kentucky, birth records show.

The couple will return in three weeks to receive the second of two doses, WXIX reported. The couple expressed the hope that life can return to its pre-pandemic status.

“We want to get back to normal as soon as possible,” Noel Record told WLWT. “I’m a square dance caller, and we have not been able to get together since March. We’re looking forward to people getting vaccinated and getting back to normal, where we can once again square dance and have fun again.”

“Get back to our normal life,” Virginia Record told the television station.
