Loretta Lynn See, 41, of Philadelphia, Tennessee, was arrested June 14 and charged with three counts of theft, according to Monroe County Sheriff’s Office online booking records.

Sweetwater Police Department Officer Brandon Cansler said he originally responded to a report of a theft at the AgCentral Farmers Cooperative in Sweetwater, The Advocate & Democrat of Madisonville reported.

According to management officials at the co-op, which is a chain retailer that stocks household tools and supplies, See allegedly left the store with a Craftsman tool set in a red box without paying for it, the newspaper reported.

See was identified after Cansler watched security footage of the alleged theft, the officer said.

Officers later found See walking on a road about a mile from the co-op, and she had the toolbox and several Dollar General bags containing items, The Advocate & Democrat reported.

According to police, See admitted she found the empty bags in a dumpster and then went into a Dollar General store, filling the bags with items she did not pay for.

Cansler added that See also had a cloth bag filled with meat and other grocery items she allegedly took from a United Grocery Outlet grocery store next to the Dollar General retail store, according to The Advocate & Democrat.

See was booked into the Monroe County Jail. Bail was set at $3,000, according to online booking records.
