Brooks has tested negative, WSMV reported. According to a news release from Brooks’ publicist, the couple had been quarantining after a member of their team tested positive, The Tennessean reported. Bad weather in Tennessee related to the recent winter storm prevented them from being tested for nearly a week, the newspaper reported.

“The Queen and I have now tested twice,” said Brooks, 59, who has still tested negative for COVID-19.

“Officially, she’s diagnosed as ‘on her way out of the tunnel’ now, though,” Brooks said in the release. “Which I’m extremely thankful for.

“Anyone who knows me knows my world begins and ends with Miss Yearwood, so she and I will ride through this together. And anyone who knows her knows she’s a fighter and she’s been doing everything right, so I know we’ll walk out the other side of this thing together.”

Through his publicist, Brooks said that Yearwood, 56, is “doing OK so far” but is still dealing with unspecified symptoms.

Brooks said he will step away from the spotlight for now, including participating with his Studio G conversation on Facebook, for an undetermined time, WSMV reported.
