Apple is among the companies like Disney Parks to reverse course on mask-wearing, in light of the latest COVID-19 surge.

The requirement will be for employees and customers no matter their vaccination status, CNBC reported.

It applies at more than half of locations and was determined by the number of local coronavirus cases and local mandates, Bloomberg reported.

During the past year, the company made decisions on whether to open or close on a store-by-store basis with all U.S. locations fully reopen by March 1.

Apple has also delayed bringing workers back to its office locations from September to October and warned it could be delayed further, CNBC reported.

The company is also encouraging employees to get vaccinated against coronavirus, but has yet to mandate the shots, Bloomberg reported.
