All lanes of eastbound U.S. 35 in Dayton are expected to be shut down through the morning commute after a motorcyclist suffered critical injuries in a Wednesday morning crash.
Dayton police and medics were dispatched to eastbound U.S. 35 near Steve Whalen Boulevard and Smithville Road around 3 a.m. on a reported crash involving a motorcycle.
Dayton police Sgt. Roberta Bailey said the crash involved only the motorcycle, and injured the lone operator on the motorcycle.
The victim, identified only as an adult man, suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to Miami Valley Hospital in critical condition.
A traffic reconstruction unit was requested to the scene and is investigating the crash.
Bailey said all lanes of eastbound U.S. 35 will be shut down for three to four hours, with a possible reopen time after 7 a.m.
To get around the crash, drivers can exit off the Steve Whalen Boulevard exit, then get right back on the highway on the entrance ramp from Steve Whalen Boulevard to U.S. 35.

A motorcyclist was transported to Miami Valley Hospital for treatment of possible life-threatening injuries.
