Truck driver ejected during crash on I-75 in Dayton

DAYTON — Udpate@7 a.m.: The crash occurred when the semi's driver, traveling in the far left lane of I-75, drove across multiple lanes to attempt to take the Main Street exit at the last minute, according to Dayton police.

He lost control of the vehicle and it struck a wall, causing the driver to be ejected, police said. The front of the truck was heavily damaged.

The driver, whose identity has not been released, was taken to Miami Valley Hospital in stable condition. He was not wearing a seat belt, officers said, noting that he will be cited for failure to control.

Police said weather and speed were factors in the crash. We will remain at the scene and bring you the latest information.

Crews are responding to a crash involving a semi on Interstate 75 north at Main Street in Dayton.

The exit ramp from I-75 to Main Street has been closed. The crash is not affecting the I-75 traffic.
