— Chipotle is moving about 150 positions to Ohio as part of a corporate reshuffling.
The fast casual burrito chain will move most of its corporate functions to a new office in California, but will also be moving support jobs to an existing office in Columbus.
Chipotle stated in a press release that the move will mean growing its current Columbus workforce from 100 to more than 250 employees.
Consolidating the jobs to Columbus will provide “access to high-quality talent and offers cost advantages,” the company stated.
“Through technology and the consolidation of talent, we’ll create a world class Shared Services Center with increased productivity and quality services supporting our employees and our restaurants,” stated Chipotle chief finance officer Jack Hartung.
Over the next six months, Chipotle will transition its Denver and New York office functions to Newport Beach and Columbus. After the jobs are moved to Newport Beach, Calif., and Columbus, the company will close its Denver and New York City offices.
Chipotle will share more details on its plans on an investor call June 27.

Tonight: Decreasing clouds are expected for the rest of today. If a stray shower does develop, it will be isolated. A mild night is expected again with temperatures dropping into the middle to upper 60s.
Memorial Day: Monday should be a dry day, but once again an isolated shower or storm can’t be ruled out. It will be hot with highs near 90 degrees, possibly the first day of the year to reach into the 90s.
Tuesday: Another hot day is expected with highs near 90 under mostly sunny skies. The remnants of Subtropical Storm Alberto will bring the chance for rain into the area late Tuesday, but most of the day will be dry.
Wednesday: The chance for rain, maybe storms, continues with highs in the middle 80s.
Thursday: Remnants of Alberto will give us more rain; highs will be in the middle 80s.
