Hiker dies after falling from overlook in Hocking County; ODNR investigating

HOCKING COUNTY — The Ohio Department of Natural Resources is investigating after a man died while hiking in Hocking County Sunday.

ODNR said the man was hiking at Conkles Hollow State Nature Preserve when he fell from an overlook, according to our news partners at WBNS in Columbus. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Hocking County Coroner is working to identify the man.

ODNR issued a release following the incident, reminding the visitors at Hocking Hills State Park and Conkles Hollow State Nature Preserve to stay on trails and follow park safety instructions, WBNS reported.
