Patrol, truckers participate in multi-state human trafficking initiative

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is teaming up with others to fight human trafficking.

Troopers are working with police from Illinois, Indiana and Michigan, along with Truckers Against Trafficking until Jan. 18 to raise awareness about human trafficking, according to a release.

Authorities will train and educate people who are in a position so see human trafficking take place, such as people who drive commercial vehicles, public transportation companies, rest area attendants and truck stop employees, the release stated.

Troopers will also hand out information cards to help identify signs and ask people to report any suspected instances of human trafficking.
