Logan Co. working to improve community health and well-being

Logan County is working to improve community health, safety and well-being.

They have completed a new assessment to better understand current challenges facing the residents, according to a release. This Community Health Risk and Needs Assessment is now available at www.loganhealth.org.

In October, a new Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP) will be completed. CHIP provides strategies and actions for the next three years that are specific and designed to address the areas of risk and need, the release stated. The priority areas identified by the community were:

  • Mental health
  • Substance abuse
  • Obesity and chronic disease
  • Access, resources and awareness
  • Maltreatment of children
  • Housing and homelessness
  • Workforce readiness.
