Scooter fire spreads to Springfield house; 3 displaced

UPDATE @ 9:44 p.m.

A homeowner escaped injury when the scooter he was working on caught fire inside his garage. The fire spread from the attached garage to the home.

Now the man, woman and child living there are displaced, according to Springfield Twp. fire officials.

The Red Cross is assisting.

Springfield fire crews are at a fully involved house fire on Dayton Road.

The fire started after 8 p.m. outside with a scooter and shed and spread to the residence in the 2500 block of Dayton Road, according to emergency dispatchers.

Several fires struck the Miami Valley Sunday. Including 10 residents displaced in Fairborn and an ice cream shop in Moraine forced to close temporarily.

An attached garage in Riverside also reportedly caught fire Sunday night and spread to a home in the 3500 block of Golden Meadows Court.
