REVISED: Names of 5 killed Darke Co. crashes

Five person killed in three crashes within a 12 hour period Saturday in Darke County.

"I've never seen this before in my career," said Sgt. Shawn Trissel of the Darke County Sheriff's Department.  "Slow down and pay attention."

First fatal crash reported at about 5:30 a.m. at U.S. Route 127 and State Route 47 near Versailles. Killed was Joseph H. Winhoven, 50, of Greenville. Injured was the driver of the Jeep, Robert H. Pierce, 31, Ansonia.

Second fatal crash reported at about 1:30 p.m. at U.S. Route 127 and State Route 503 near Arcanum. Killed was Lisa A. Wright, 43, Arcanum. Under treatment in fair condition at Children's Medical Center in Dayton is Daryn Wright, 13, Arcanum. The truck driver from Florida was not injured.

The third fatal crash occurred on Byrket Road at Barry Dr. off State Route 121 near Wayne Lakes. Three individuals pronounced dead at the scene. They included the driver, Austin Meade, 16, Greenville, and passsengers Justice Meade, 16, Greenville, and Brian Mendenhall (not Williams as first released by deputies), 15, Greenville. All three were dead at the scene.

All three crashes remain under investigation by Darke County deputies.
