The U.S. Department of Agriculture Food Safety and Inspection Service announced today the recall of 52,486 pounds of buffalo chicken wings produced by Tyson Foods Inc.
The recall notice for 28-ounce bags of Tyson Any’tizers Fully Cooked Hot Wings is necessary because the product “may be adulterated because of having an “off odor,” according to the release.
Federal officials report the chicken wings were produced Oct. 24, 25 with expiration dates of Oct. 24 and 25 2016, and were shipped to stores nationwide.
“The problem was discovered when Tyson Foods Inc. received consumer complaints about the product … as well [as] mild illness associated with consumption,” the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service said in a prepared statement.
Consumers who bought this product should throw it away or return it to the place of purchase, according to the release.
