House catches fire with homeowners away

Firefighters say a house caught fire while the homeowners were away early Saturday morning.

Crews were called to the 500 block of Gramont Avenue in Dayton on reports of a working structure fire around midnight Saturday morning.

Firefighters were able to contain much of the fire to the front of the house without the flames spreading throughout the house.

Investigators say the homeowners have been away since Friday morning, but do not have a cause of the blaze.

Damage to the home is estimated around $2,000 and no injuries were reported.
