Flames destroy barn in Darke County

UPDATE @ 5:45 p.m.: The cause of the barn fire on State Route 722, just west of the Village of Castine, is under investigation.

Bluebag Media, our news partner, is reporting that heavy equipment was in the structure that was destroyed by the flames.

FIRST REPORT

Flames have destroyed a barn in the 4000 block of State Route 722.

Crews from several areas were dispatched to lend assistance in battling the two-alarm fire called in about 4:57 p.m.

There are no reports of any injuries.

This is the second barn fire in the county early Tuesday. Crews were dispatched to a two-alarm fire in the 5500 block of Beamsville-Union City Road, just west of U.S. 127 north. That fire was reported just after 3 a.m.

That fire was still under investigation late Tuesday.
