Cigarettes taken in Smoke Stop smash-and-grab

Cartons and packs of cigarettes were stolen early this morning from the Smoke Stop during a smash-and-grab incident.

Police responded to an alarm just before 1 a.m. at the store, 4646 Brandt St., according to a Dayton police report.

The glass to the front entrance door was shattered, but no suspects were inside. An undetermined number of cartons and packs of cigarettes were stolen, and some packs were found near the front door, the report stated.

Police were going to review security camera footage to identify a suspect. The incident remains under investigation.
