The cat, Molly, had tested positive for feline leukemia virus, which is contagious to cats and presented a challenge to finding her a new home, according to Planned PEThood of Georgia animal clinic.

The clinic submitted an application on Molly’s behalf to Neko Cat Cafe in Seattle, which “serves coffee, beer, wine & light nibbles” in the company of adoptable cats -- including those with feline leukemia virus.

Molly was accepted and Delta Animal Rescue Transport stepped in to get her from Atlanta to Seattle.

Through the group, Delta employees and retirees volunteer using their flight benefits to transport rescue pets for rescue groups. Molly flew to Seattle with a DART volunteer in late April, according to Planned PEThood of Georgia.

Now, Molly has her own page on Neko Cat Cafe’s website.

The Seattle cat cafe’s website says: “Molly came to us all the way from Atlanta, Georgia, and she is such a peach! Half tabby, half white chocolate bar, this playful girl is curious, playful, and a total purr-machine. She gets along well with other kitties and is the purrfect adventure buddy! She has tested positive for FeLV.”

According to Neko Cat Cafe, Molly “instantly started playing and bonding with our other 12 kitties. She loves to snuggle up with our customers. She also has a twin named Love Muffin and they love to sleep together.”

“She is an angel,” cafe owner Caitlin Unsell said of the cat’s demeanor. “So snuggly and sweet.”
