MINNEAPOLIS — Dairy Queen has a treat for singles this Valentine's Day.
The Singles Blizzard Treat has salted caramel truffles, Reese's peanut butter cups, and peanut butter topping with the DQ soft-serve that makes Blizzards so special.
Barry Westrum, executive vice president of marketing for American Dairy Queen Corp,. said in a press release Feb. 1, "Single Americans now outnumber those who are married, so we felt the time was right to honor our single fans."
Dairy Queen partnered with licensed clinical psychologist Dr. Joseph Cilona for a survey on U.S. singles.
"Americans are breaking the cliché of the ‘sad single’ with only 6 percent of singles actively opposing the holiday," Cilona said. "In fact, 82 percent of Americans are in favor of a more modern definition of the day that celebrates all kinds of love, including love of self."
Peanut butter and chocolate isn't the only flavor DQ is offering for February.
There is also a red velvet cake Blizzard Treat with vanilla soft-serve blended with red velvet cake pieces and cream cheese frosting.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Police in Memphis, Tennessee, arrested a man after investigators said his girlfriend's child suffered life-threatening injuries while under his care.
According to the arrest affidavit, the suspect, Latarius Curry, was alone with the victim and two other children when he called his girlfriend.
He reportedly told the victim's mother that her daughter was having a seizure. The woman rushed home from work and noticed her daughter's body was "very stiff," and her eyes were rolling into the back of her head, the affidavit said.
The child was rushed to Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital in extremely critical condition.
Court records detail the severe injuries the child suffered, which included liver laceration, contusions and bruises. It also said the child had multiple seizures.
The doctor said the injuries are consistent with "non-accidental trauma, specifically blunt force trauma to the head."
Police said the injuries are currently "unexplained."

HOUSTON — A Texas woman was arrested and charged with assault after police say she bit off and swallowed part of another woman's nose.
According to KTRK, the victim, identified only as "Tatiana," said the incident happened last week after she, her neighbor and the neighbor's guest came back to Tatiana's home after a night out. When the neighbor's guest, 41-year-old Jessica Collins of Conroe, "demanded more alcohol and cigarettes," Tatiana said she asked her to leave, KTRK reported.
That's when Collins attacked her, Tatiana said.
"I didn't have time to react, to push her away," said Tatiana, who claimed that Collins then bit off a portion of her nose.
Tatiana told KTRK that she didn't know the extent of her injury until the ambulance ride to the hospital. She said she called her husband, screaming, "I don't have a nose! I'm 28 years old and I don't have a nose anymore!"
Tatiana said she will need plastic surgery for her injury.
Collins was released from jail Monday after posting bond.

CNN reported that 13 passengers were taken to a hospital and 10 were treated for minor injuries when the boat made it back to Wailoa Harbor on the Big Island and that one woman was seriously injured with a fractured femur.
A photo of the boat when it docked shows a large hole in its roof where the lava bomb slammed into the vessel.
A witness said there were rocks all over the boat and that people had “burns and gashes on their legs,” CNN reported.
It’s about an hour’s boat ride from Wailoa Harbor to an area in the vicinity of Kilauea, where lava is flowing into the ocean.
The volcano started erupting in May. Lava has destroyed hundreds of homes in neighborhoods close to it. The U.S. Geological Survey confirmed Kilauea’s eruption is still underway.
