Confessed killer seeking release will first be evaluated

At a brief hearing, Common Pleas Judge Linda Jennings ordered that Cook, 59, be evaluated at the Court Diagnostic and Treatment Center to determine his likelihood to commit a sexual offense. Cook was arrested Feb. 13, 1998 for the aggravated murder of Tom Gordon and the attempted murder and rape of Mr. Gordon's girlfriend in 1980.
