RNC 2016: Speakers wrap up on day 2 of convention

The second night of the Republican National Convention has concluded this evening from the Quicken Loans Arena in downtown Cleveland.

Speaking Tuesday night were Dana White, Asa Hutchinson, Michael Mukasey, Michael Flynn, Mitch McConnell, Tiffany Trump, Donald Trump Jr. and Dr. Ben Carson.

10:59 p.m.:

The Republican National Convention has adjourned for Tuesday evening.

10:35 p.m.:

Dr. Ben Carson has taken the stage at the Republican National Convention.

“It’s time for us to stand up and shout out for what we believe in,” Carson said. “We must resist the temptation to take the easy way out.”

“Now is the time for us to rise up and take America back,” Carson said.

One female protester was spotted in the crowd and people around her were trying to take away a banner from her.

10:05 p.m.:

Donald Trump Jr. took the stage following a brief speech by Kerry Woolard, general manager of Trump Winery.

Donald Trump Jr. said his father’s determination will earn him the election as President of the United States.

Donald Trump Jr. said his dad listens to the every day person.

Trump Jr. said his dad promotes people based on character.

“When my father says he can fix the country, he means it,” Trump Jr. said.

Trump Jr. said electing Clinton would be a risk the country can’t afford to take.

“If Hillary Clinton were elected she’d be the first President who couldn’t pass a basic background check,” Trump Jr. said.

9:55 p.m.:

Donald Trump’s daughter Tiffany Trump took the stage admitting she is a bit nervous to be addressing the country.

Tiffany Trump says everything her father does, “he does well.”

“He draws out the talent and drive in people,” Tiffany Trump said.

She said her father never does anything halfway.

Tiffany Trump said she was greatful for the chance to address the convention.

9:39 p.m.:

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie has taken the stage and said the voices of the convention want Donald Trump to be the next President of the United States.

Christie said he will hold Hillary Clinton accountable, and the crowd responded with chants of “lock her up.”

The New Jersey Governor laid out his case against Clinton.

Christie asked the crowd if Clinton was guilty or not guilty and the crowd responded in unison yelling “guilty.”

9:37 p.m.:

House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy took the stage to slam the democratic party and their agenda.

9:27 p.m.:

House Speaker Paul Ryan has taken the stage for tonight’s convention session.

Ryan thanked law enforcement for their service during this week’s convention.

Ryan was the vice presidential candidate in 2012, when Mitt Romney ran for office.

Ryan said if Clinton is elected it will become a “third Obama term.”

“2016 is the year America moves on,” Ryan said. “The Obama years are almost over; the Clinton years are way over”

9:15 p.m.:

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said that if Hillary Clinton is elected President the country will continue to slide.

McConnell said if Trump is elected President, Trump will pass laws that President Obama has vetoed.

McConnell believes that Trump will allow the senate to pass more legislation.

9:07 p.m.:

Donald Trump is appearing via video at tonight’s Republican convention.

“We have to go all the way,” Trump said. “It’s an honor to run on a ticket with Governor Mike Pence.”

Trump said, “By the way we are going to win the State of Ohio.”

Trump said he plans to put the American people first.

“We are going to make America great again,” Trump said.

9:00 p.m.:

Executive Director of NRA-ILA Chris Cox is on stage now and is focusing on gun control.

Cox said Trump will allow Americans to keep their guns, while Hillary Clinton will take that right away.

“The choice to own a firearm is our choice to make,” Cox said.

8:55 p.m.

Wisconsin U.S. Senator Ron Johnson has taken the stage and is speaking about America fighting against ISIS and is calling for America to fight Islamic terrorists “wherever they hide.”

“This is a fight for freedom…this is a fight we absolutely must win,” Johnson said.

Johnson said Trump and Pence will be leaders should they be elected to the presidency and vice presidency.

8:52 p.m.:

Businessman Andy Wist, of Brooklyn, took the stage around 8:50 p.m.

Wist told his story of living the ‘American Dream’

“He will make American work again,” Wist said, referring to Donald Trump. “The only way we keep the American Dream alive is by electing Donald Trump for President.

8:50 p.m.:

Former U.S. Attorney General Michael Mukasey echoed Rutledge’s comments, ripping into Hillary Clinton.

“No way Hillary, no way on earth,” Mukasey said.

8:45 p.m.:

Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge has taken the stage at tonight’s convention session.

Rutledge said Hillary Clinton is dishonest.

She spoke about the importance of the Supreme Court nominations that could take place in the next President’s term.

“Donald Trump will nominate conservative justices,” Rutledge said.

8:35 p.m.:

Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson is now speaking and is calling out Hillary Clinton for what he said were “bad decisions.”

Hutchinson said Trump is the transparent leader the country needs.

The Governor also said Indiana Gov. Mike Pence is the right person for the Vice Presidency.

8:30 p.m.:

UFC President Dana White has taken the stage at tonight’s convention.

White has run the UFC since 2001 and said no one took his company serious except Donald Trump.

“He shows up,” White said about Trump. “Tonight I stand with Donald Trump.”

White said Trump has “great business instincts” and is a “hard worker”

“He will work with people,” White said.

White said Trump is a loyal and supportive friend.
