Major exit ramp from I-70 in Clark County will be closed starting next week for construction

COLUMBUS — A roadwork project will block a major I-70 ramp in Clark County for weeks starting next week.

The Ohio Department of Transportation announced Wednesday that the exit ramp from Interstate 70 Westbound to U.S. 68 Northbound will close next week for a bridge preservation project. The roadwork project is expected to last 60 days, according to ODOT.

From June 23 through August 22, drivers can take I-70 Westbound to Enon Road and then use I-70 Eastbound to U.S. 68 Northbound.

Mandi Dillon, spokesperson for ODOT, says a contract for more than $1.27 million was awarded to the Great Lakes Construction Company and construction is expected to be completed in the fall of 2022.

Correction: A previous version of this story indicated the project was part of the larger I-70 widening project. An ODOT spokesperson issued a correction Wednesday saying this was a separate project. The contractor and cost of the project were also corrected with the new ODOT information.
