YWCA Dayton participates in national walkout to support sexual assault survivors

YWCA Dayton participated and dozens of people attended in a National Walkout and Moment of Solidarity Monday afternoon to support survivors of sexual assault.

The YWCA is the largest network of domestic and sexual violence service providers in the United States. They provide safety and support to half a million women and children each year who are fleeing violence.

“The YWCA sees you, we hear you, we stand in solidarity with you,” said Shannon Isom, CEO and President of YWCA Dayton.

Every 90 seconds, another American is sexually assaulted, one in four women will experience domestic violence, and on average, more than three women are murdered by their current or former partner every day, according to a report from the YWCA.
