WAYNE TWP., Champaign County — UPDATE @ 6:55 p.m. (Nov. 9)
A 15-year-old Triad High School student called her mother today after she had been missing since the morning of Oct. 6, the Champaign County Sheriff’s Office said.
Her mom called deputies, who took the girl to the sheriff’s office.
Her friends told deputies in October that she may have been headed to the Columbus area, but it’s not clear where the girl has been.
The investigation is ongoing.
A 15-year-old Triad High School student is missing, and the Champaign County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help to find her.
Alexis Dixon was last seen around 10 a.m. Thursday at school, where she left with a duffel bag. Most of her belongings at home also were missing, and her house key was left on a table, according to deputies.
Someone gave Dixon a ride to Urbana. From there, she may have been headed to the Columbus area, her friends told deputies.
Dixon has green eyes and brown hair, stands between 5 feet 8 and 5 feet 9 inches and weighs about 140 pounds.
