Xenia fire crews assist with high-pressure line gas leak

XENIA — A high-pressure gas line was reportedly struck by a tree trimming crew on Reid Avenue this morning, according to initial dispatch reports.

Fire crews were called out to the 1400 block around 10:15 a.m.

No evacuations have occurred, however fire crews on the scene are reporting they may need to check several homes in the area, dispatch traffic indicated.

Several callers on nearby Lowell Road also reported smelling the natural gas from the leak.

Vectren crews are on the scene working to contain the leak, initial dispatch traffic indicated.
