UPDATE: Englewood woman ID’d as victim killed by falling tree during severe weather in Harrison Twp.

HARRISON TWP. — A woman in Harrison Twp. was struck by a falling tree and later died from her injuries, caused by severe storms and high winds that moved through the region Sunday afternoon, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

Kimberly Short, 63, of Englewood was identified as the victim in the incident, Montgomery County Coroner Dr. Kent Harshbarger said in a media release Monday. Her cause and manner of death were still under investigation, Harshbarger said.

Deputies and medics responded to the 3800 block of Birch Drive around 1 p.m. Sunday after the incident was reported, investigators said in a media release.

Short was initially transported to an area hospital however she later died from her injuries, deputies said.
