Woman dies after vehicle strikes tree in Clinton County

A 60-year-old woman has died as a result of a crash Sunday night around 6:30 p.m. on state Route 730, north of Pansy Road, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol Wilmington Post.

Cheryl Wetz, of Blanchester, was operating a 2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse traveling north on state Route 730 when she went off the right side of the road, over-corrected, traveled off the left side of the road and struck a tree.

Wetz was transported to Miami Valley Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

She was the only occupant of the vehicle and no other cars were involved, troopers said.

This crash remains under investigation.
