WHIO-TV’s John Bedell was Grand Marshal for parade in Preble County

News Center 7 reporter John Bedell helped kickoff the Village of West Alexandria’s annual Oktoberfest as Grand Marshal for their morning parade.

The parade followed with opening ceremonies with a recognition of the West Alexandria Citizen of the Year and crowning of Oktoberfest royalty at Peace Park Saturday.

Bedell also received a signed and sealed proclamation from the mayor of West Alexandria declaring October 13 "John Bedell Day" in the village.

This year’s festival began at 10:30 a.m. and goes until 7:30 p.m. Festivities continue Sunday from 11:30 a.m. until 6:30 p.m.
