SPRINGBORO — A warning has been issued to people mailing checks this tax season.

Springboro Police have asked residents to make the criminals’ “job easy,” according to a social media post.
News Center 7 has reported over the years on mail theft from blue boxes across the Miami Valley.

The department said criminals can take mail from your mailbox and the large collection boxes.
“If you have to mail a check, the safest way is to take the envelope containing it directly to the mail counter and hand it to the clerk,” the department said.
The IRS announced that the 2025 tax season will start on Monday, Jan. 27.
