Vandalism attempt reported at Dayton church

DAYTON — A group of people attempted to vandalize a fountain at a West Fourth Street church Saturday morning, according to a Dayton police report.

The pastor of Sacred Heart saw a group of four or five people trying to damage the fountain around 11 a.m. Saturday.

The group had thrown a traffic cone in the pond and pulled out some of the grass, according to the report.

They also threw some rocks at the pastor, who was watching from the second story.

The pastor wasn’t injured and there was no damage reported at the church.
