Vandalia business evacuated for possible gas leak

VANDALIA — A Vandalia business was evacuated this morning while firefighters investigated a possible gas leak, according to initial dispatch reports.

Firefighters responded to Heraeus Precious Metals at 970 Industrial Park Drive around 9 a.m.

Vectren was called to respond to the business. Firefighters said a minor odor was detected, but nothing suspicious was found.

Workers were let back into the business by 10:15 a.m., according to our crew on scene.
