UPDATE: U.S. 68 near Urbana reopens after semitrailer hauling seafood overturns

URBANA — UPDATE @ 7:25 p.m.: U.S. 68 south of Urbana reopened about 6:15 p.m., about 7 hours after the semitrailer overturned and blocked the road, Champaign County Sheriff’s dispatch reports.

EARLIER REPORT

A semi hauling seafood rolled over in a crash on U.S. 68 south of Urbana this morning, blocking the road while crews clean up the mess.

The crash was reported around 11:15 a.m. at U.S. 68 and Hickory Grove Road. Deputies said the driver drove off the right side of the road and over corrected.

The driver was walking and talking following the crash and appeared to be uninjured.

It’s unclear how long the road will be closed.
