Two years later, former gym teacher’s sexual abuse victims’ families not done fighting

SPRINGBORO — Monday marks two years since Springboro Schools put one of its gym teachers on leave, and Tuesday is the one year anniversary of the trial officially starting.

News Center 7 is reporting uncovered allegations of sexual misconduct against Austin Hopkins.

He is now serving an eight year prison sentence for sexually abusing dozens of first grade girls.

However, his victims’ families are not done fighting.

Angela Wallace, the attorney representing the families, said there is a civil lawsuit pending in federal court against the school district.
