Red Cross assists brothers displaced by Troy fire

The American Red Cross is assisting two Troy brothers after a fire spread through their Stephenson Drive apartment, according to News Center 7 Reporter Steve Baker.

Baker reports the fire was contained to the one apartment in the 10-unit building and remains under investigation.

Firefighters encountered flames coming from a second floor bedroom when they arrived on scene around 9 a.m. Saturday.

The two brothers were the only tenets displaced by the fire that damaged a living room and bedroom.

Firefighters said the fire is not considered suspicious and a cost for damages has yet to be determined.

Two Troy brothers are safe after a fire spread through the apartment they share Saturday morning, according to Troy firefighters.

Firefighters told News Center 7 Reporter Steve Baker crews were dispatched to the 1100 block of Stephenson Drive around 9 a.m.

One of the two brothers in the apartment at the time of the fire was treated for smoke inhalation at the scene, according to Baker.

Heavy fire damage was reported in the living room and bedroom, according to firefighters.

Baker reports Troy firefighters continue to investigate the fire and are working to determine a cause.
